Hello, Fellow Crafters!
Let me introduce you to my latest passion: Chalk Couture! What is it, you might ask ... and why you, my favorite CardMonkey?
Chalk
Couture is an on-trend crafters' dream. It's a company ...a product
...a project ... that allows you to make home decor items using a unique
designer "Transfer" and a proprietary chalk paste or ink on just about anything! It's sort of like a stencil, it's kind of like vinyling, blended with easy-peasy silk screen.
The WHY for me was that primarily as a cardmaker who is a crafter first, I wanted to try this fun new technique, and then learn whether I could couple the chalking technique to make backgrounds for the cards I make. I'm all about exploration and thinking out of the box a bit.
So I joined Chalk Couture in October 2018. The day my kit arrived, I cracked it open, peeled and applied this Love Heart transfer onto a chalkboard I had in my craft room, and tried out this sweet ombre technique I had learned online. Less than five minutes later, I had this adorable sign for my desk. LOVE!!!
Not one to hold back, I went shopping for different surfaces on which to use my Chalkology Paste. (Sure, you can DO that too -- or make it easier on yourself and buy any of the chalk surfaces that Chalk Couture sells!) I found an adorable chalkboard with hooks, perfect for my kitchen ... and I knew if I messed it up, I could remove my errors or even the whole design was just a squirt of water and some rubbing with a paper towel. And this was born: MY FIRST complete project in time for Christmas decorating season!

I did by myself, with NO experience in Chalk Couture! I was hooked!! Seriously!
Stick with me as I bring this blog up to speed. I promise we'll have some fun, I'll show you some ideas, and I'll let you know how you can get your hands on some of this "chalk stuff."
